We are a small and specialist publisher and editorial agency working in the fields of the parenting and scientific fields.

Whether you want a magazine published, need fresh and exciting website content or are looking for guidance and expertise on the presentation of your company or organisation, Aveta can help.

In addition, we offer targeted training courses to allow those studying science or medicine to get published in peer reviewed, scientific and consumer publications.

We bring together a team of people in the parenting and health care sectors who, between them, have many years' experience of writing for consumer and healthcare titles.

Sally J Hall

Director

Sally created Aveta Publishing in 1998. She has written for most of the UK's parenting magazines and has been a print and digital Editor and journalist for many years. She has written for websites, magazines and daily national newspapers plus specialist publications.

Sally launched B Magazine in 2015, the only upmaket title to be distributed directly to women's hands in their private healthcare settings from early in pregnancy.

Sally previously edited Emma's Diary and the Bounty Product Guide and has worked with Mother & Baby, Pregnancy & Birth, The Independent, The Daily Mail, Boots Baby, Ebay and Babies R Us.

Her book Eco Baby is available from Green Books and she is a a co-author of Watch My Baby Grow (Dorling Kindersley).

Radhika Holmstrom

Radhika Holmstrom

Health Editor

Radhika Holmström has been a freelance journalist for around 20 years, following a first career running press offices in the voluntary sector. She has written for a wide range of publications, including national newspapers, trade journals and women’s magazines, and has also worked as health editor on several monthly titles including B Magazine.

Radhika co-wrote Understanding Family Diversity and Home-School Relations (Routledge) and contributed to Watch My Baby Grow (Dorling Kindersley).

Radhika lectured in journalism at Middlesex University and Goldsmiths.

She edits the bimonthly journal of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.

Ruth Ellis

Creative Director

Ruth has 16 years’ design and illustration experience covering a breadth of work in publishing, branding and marketing across both commercial and corporate markets. She is particularly valued for her magazine editorial design expertise in the parenting and women's lifestyle market. If you can think of a parenting title - the chances are Ruth has had a significant creative hand in it!
Ruth collaborated with Sally on the launch of Aveta’s flagship title b magazine in 2015 with a striking modern approach to both the brand and design creating a stand-out title within a competitive market.  She also re-freshed and re-launched termly School Notices’ magazine ‘Noticed’ in 2017 which consistently receives positive feedback from schools, parents and advertisers.
Aside from publishing, Ruth works closely with corporate charity clients Nuffield Health and LifeArc with both their internal and external communication publications - recent projects have included exhibition stands, brochures, training guides, icons, infographics, newsletters and web banners.
As well as her artistic skills, Ruth has proven experience as a Shoot producer having produced many Boots Parenting shoots in the past few years. From casting through to Art Direction, she can happily do it all!
Always enthusiastic and up for a challenge, Ruth is a trusted pair of designer hands however big or small your project!
Liat Hughes

Liat Hughes

Parenting expert

Liat Hughes Joshi has worked as a journalist since 2002, writing for national newspapers, most notably The Daily Telegraph, The Sun and The Sunday Times and various parenting magazines and websites, including Mother and Baby and Huffpost Parents. 
She's the author of five parenting books, published in the UK and internationally. These include 5-Minute Parenting Fixes, New Old-Fashioned Parenting, How to Unplug Your Child (all published by Summersdale/ Octopus) and Raising Children: The Primary Years (Pearson/ Prentice Hall).
As well as writing, Liat makes regular appearances in the media as a commentator on parenting and family life, particularly for Sky News, LBC, ITV News, Channel 5 News and Good Morning Britain. 
Catherine Hudson

Catherine Hudson

Travel and parenting writer

Catherine has been employed in parenting print and digital lifestyle journalism since 2010. Starting out as a fashion assistant she worked up to content editor at Junior, where she managed the Junior Design Awards between 2014 and 2016. She moved to Gurgle magazine to become style editor, where she also managed the brand's Instagram account and the monthly celebrity interview, as well as the style, travel and interiors content.
After having a baby, Catherine is now freelancing, with nearly 10 years of professional, and, more recently personal, experience of parenting. Her biggest passion is travel, having visited Canada, Indonesia, South Africa, the Maldives, and many more, in the name of a good story. Catherine has found travelling with a baby brings its challenges, but is all the richer in experiences - and she can't wait to write more about it. She edits her own travel website at FashTravels.com
As well as lifestyle and product feature writing, Catherine has experience in celebrity interviews, health and fitness writing, fashion and cover shoots, and fashion styling, having worked on campaigns with Westfield, Mothercare and Mamas & Papas, as well as many photoshoots with Junior magazine. She is also a keen amateur photographer.
